April 2010 - End of Season Roundup
Westberries have had another sucessful season both on and off the hockey field.
The first team narrowly missed out on promotion into Premier 2 for the second year running with a second place finish in Central divsion. Next year they will be looking to achieve that elusive promotion into Premier 2.
The second team derservely won promotion into Brunel division 1. They really came together as team and played some brilliant hockey throughout the season. Their hard work and skill has earnt them the highest league position the second team have ever achieved in the history of the club.
The third team had to suffer relagation from Brunel 2 this season taking them back down into Brunel 3, the division they had won promotion from in the previous season. They played some very good hockey and are confident that they can win back their place in Brunel 2 in near future.
The newly assembled fourth team entered the league system for the first time this year. They exceeded all expectations and played some fantastic hockey throughout the season and were rightly crowned champions of Brunel Division 4. A suberb effort.
Off the field the club has run numerous social events ranging from murder mysteries evenings to pub golf nights. All have been a success and have helped to build and maintain the tremendous club spirit that the Westberries pride themselves on.
Well done everybody it has been a great season. Everybody involved should be proud of their efforts and achievements this year.
Rest up and see you at Summer League!
